Happy Friday everyone. Today's featured bread is quite a departure from the breads I've shared before. This one's called a puerquito. It comes in the shape of a little pig and the crumb is dark brown. I'm pretty sure it has molasses in it, it has a rich molasses taste anyway. It is thick and soft when you bite into it and it is particularly good with a tall glass of milk. Puerquitos are very filling, I think I would have a hard time eating more than one at any particular sitting.
Make sure to take a look at the other featured breads in this series at estropajos, cacahuates, bolillos, orejas, libros, conchas, soles, chinos, pay de queso and roscas chinas.
Have a yummy weekend,
Enjoy!
