El pasado fin de semana fui invitada por Walt Disney Studios a la premier (con alfombra roja) y fiesta de celebración de la super simpática, tierna y hermosa película Gnomeo and Juliet. Y quién creés que es el Productor Ejecutivo de la misma? pues ni nada mas ni nada menos que el legendario músico y nuevo papa Sir Elton John!
La historia de amor más bonita jamás contada, protagonizada por… gnomos de jardín?…”
Ok, tiempo, tiempo… antes de continuar me gustaría aclarar que yo no estaba muy segura si quería ver una historia de amor entre gnomos, es mas, casi casi no voy a la premier, lo que hubiera sido un tremendo error! La película me super encantó! ok, ahora si les cuento el resto:
“En el próximo estreno de “Gnomeo & Juliet,” La venerada obra de Shakespeare se vuelve cómica, en esta disparatada interpretación. Dirigida por Kelly Asbury (“Shrek 2”) exhibe tanto las canciones originales como las clásicas de Elton John. El film cuenta con las voces de James McAvoy y Emily Blunt como Gnomeo y Juliet, los cuales tienen que superar los mismos obstáculos amorosos que sus casi tocayos, cuando se encuentran en medio de una disputa entre vecinos. Pero con los clásicos flamencos de plástico rosa y carreras de cortadoras de césped llenas de emoción en la mezcla, ¿Podrá esta joven pareja conseguir la felicidad de por vida?”
Esta es una película super tierna, con excelente música, grandes actuaciones y risas por doquier. Te aseguro que saldrás del cine con una sonrisa en tu rostro. Una cosa, tengo que hacer una recomendación, si es posible vela en 3D, ¡de verdad! la diferencia es notable.
Otra cosa, Sir Elton John esta por todos lados, ya verán a lo que me refiero… ¡cuando la vean!

Last weekend, Walt Disney Studios invited me to the red carpet premiere and after party for their hilariously funny, charming, and sweet new animated feature film, Gnomeo and Juliet. And who do you think the movie’s Executive Producer is? None other than the legendary musician, and new dad, Sir Elton John himself!
Here is the press release from the studio::
“The greatest love story ever told, starring…garden gnomes?….”
Time out!!! I know, I know…before we go any further I want to clear something up right here. I wasn’t too sure how interested I would be in a garden gnome love story, in fact, I almost missed the opportunity to go to the premiere, but I would have made a big mistake!!! I loved this movie. Now that I’ve got that cleared up here is some more from the press release:
“In the upcoming “Gnomeo & Juliet,” Shakespeare’s revered tale gets a comical, off-the-wall makeover. Directed by Kelly Asbury (“Shrek 2”) and showcasing both classic and original songs by Elton John, the film features the voices of James McAvoy and Emily Blunt as Gnomeo and Juliet, who have as many obstacles to overcome as their quasi namesakes when they are caught up in a feud between neighbors. But with plastic pink flamingos and thrilling lawnmower races in the mix, can this young couple find lasting happiness?”
Let me just mention, Gnomeo and Juliet really is a beautiful, tender movie, with excellent music, great performances, and lots of laughs. You will leave the theater with a smile on your face. I just have one recommendation, if possible watch it in 3D, there really is a difference. One more thing, look for Sir Elton John’s presence everywhere!
In later posts, I will share with you more about the movie, my red carpet experience, and meeting Sir Elton, Director Kelly Asbury, and Actors Emily Blunt and James McAvoy. But for now…..
