If you had asked me as a child what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would have told you: “I want to be a red-headed dancer,” and that's true, I love dancing!
When I see my kids sharing the same love for dance and music, my heart overflows and I can't stop smiling. So I encourage it. We play music on our stereo, we dance at our parties, and we watch movies and shows that feature dancing.
So to say I was happy to have the opportunity to watch the new Disney Channel movie Teen Beach 2 (coming to Disney Channel and DVD on June 26th) would be an understatement, I was absolutely ecstatic!! See, Teen Beach 2 has a beautiful story and the music and dancing are incredible!
So today, let me introduce you to two fun and charismatic actors from Teen Beach 2, Chrissie Fit, who plays “Chee-Chee” and Jordan Fisher, who plays “SeaCat.” They talked to us about their backgrounds, the movie, and dancing. Make sure to check out the video at the bottom!
Dancers or Actors?
Chrissie, with her big, generous smile, told us that she is not a professional dancer, even though Teen Beach 2 makes her look like one. She grew up, however, in a Cuban household where dancing salsa and merengue was a big part of their lives. She was a singer first and then became an actress.
Jordan's story is a little different. He said he had a crush on a girl who joined the Drama Club, so he joined as well and started acting, singing and dancing all on the same day. He's been doing it ever since. He was 10 years old at the time.
Words of Advice for Aspiring Musicians, Artists or Dancers
Since Chrissie and Jordan are young, talented and successful artists, who better to give us a few words of advice for aspiring artists. Here are their thoughts:
- Find your passion
- Don't take “NO” for an answer
- Being an artist is not like a sprint, it is a marathon, be patient
- Keep learning, not just in your area of expertise but in other areas as well.
