So it’s time to share my new assignment as a Lowe’s Creative Ideas Network Member. Have you seen my kids’ room makeover? How about my curb appeal makeover? Well, now it’s time to tackle the backyard and get it summer ready, wooo hoooo, I have two months to complete the project, June and July, so far my husband has been working very hard on the sprinklers, some of them are not showing up when we turn the water on! So basically my backyard still looks the same. Let me show you how it looks right now.
Lots of cables from lights that used to work 10 years ago.
As you can see little grass (what there is is new!) and few plants.
Lots of pots, chairs covered in spider webs and rocks without a home.
This is my covered patio and my very neglected grass (the green parts are recently arrived).
As you can see it needs a lot of work, I’m lost! I need to choose an area and make it pretty, don’t you think? Do you have any ideas or tips? What do you think I should do?

I want to invite you to sign up for the Lowe’s Creative Ideas Magazine, it’s free! Also, check out Lowe’s at Pinterest, a great resource for ideas and pics to get you started on your own projects at home, and don’t miss the Lowe’s Creative Ideas website where you can find all kinds of great ideas.

Check out Pinterest! They have amazing ideas for a backyard makeover. I would plant low care shrubs and taller bushes along the fence line to add some easy care green to the lawn.
I say get rid of all the lights with the cords and wiring and get some nice looking solar yard lights. I think they are great for brightening up a yard at night.

I would suggest getting a TON of mulch for the flower bed areas and around the fence line…then perhaps some gravel/rock for half the area to turn into a seating or zeroscaping area…and then either a bit of grass to fill in some patches or Scott’s lawncare to help it grow….my yard looks very similar so I should do the same.

I see a rock garden surrounding a little fountain, bird baths, and lillies.
We are in a very similar situation at the moment and my only tip is to buy some grass seed and hope for the best

My tip would be to gather up huge rocks to make a little water fountain. Then buy some soil and mulch and plant flowers around or in front of it. Maybe a cpl birdbaths, a few solar lights and maybe a cute little bench or picnic table.

I think gathering some gorgeous large rocks to create a pool for fish and fountain would be gorgeous. A great stone path, lots of shrubs, and flowers!

well, getting some nice green grass growing would be the big thing, but then maybe adding some colorful flowers along the fence would be nice.
