Servings: 10 mandarin oranges

Ingredients

  • 10 mandarine oranges
  • 3 celery stalks

Utensilios

  • A black or brown Sharpie marker
  • A cutting board
  • A paring knife or another small, very sharp knife.

Instructions

Celery-Stem Pumpkins

  • Peel the oranges to reveal their color and lines. Remove most of the white strings and set aside.
  • Wash a few tops of the celery sticks and take a small piece. Trim them to resemble pumpkin stems, either with or without leaves.
  • Finally, insert the celery into the top of the mandarin orange.

Sharpie Jack O’Lantern Faces

  • Simply draw a classic Jack O’Lantern face on it. This method is kid-friendly, allowing young ones to get involved in decorating while enjoying a juicy snack.

Knife-Carved Jack O’Lanterns

  • Gently carve the desired face on the mandarin orange peel and remove it to uncover the face. I recommend starting with the mouth and cutting a rounded “u” shape to allow enough space to carve the teeth, then the nose, and finally the triangular eyes.
