- 1 lb fresh strawberries
- 8 oz white chocolate I used white chocolate baking bars
- 2 oz milk chocolate chips
Kitchen towel or paper towel
1 medium microwave-safe bowl
1 small microwave-safe bowl
Parchment paper
Toothpicks
Wash and let the strawberries air dry for a while (don’t remove the stems). Then, dry them entirely with a kitchen towel or paper towel. Ensure they are completely dry and that there are no blemishes or open areas. Otherwise, the chocolate won’t stick to them.
Before starting, cut a large sheet of parchment paper and put it in your work area. You will place the strawberries on it after dipping them in the chocolate to set.
Cut the chocolate bar into pieces and place in a medium microwave-safe bowl. Melt them according to the instructions on the box. I put the bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir, and repeat until the chocolate is liquid. If you prefer, you can melt them on the stove using a double boiler.
Hold one strawberry by the stem and dip it into the melted white chocolate, moving it around to ensure it is completely covered. Allow a little bit of excess to drip to create the ghost’s tail when you place it on top of the parchment paper. Repeat.
It’s important to let them rest to allow the chocolate to harden. In my case, it took approximately one and a half hours, but it may be different for you depending on the weather or temperature at your house. If you use candy melts, it may take less time as they set faster.
Melt the milk chocolate in the other bowl and, with the toothpick, create ghostly expressions. Allow the chocolate to set again and enjoy!
