Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh strawberries
  • 1/4 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar or another sweetener of your choice*
  • 6 cups of water divided
  • Mint to garnish
  • Ice

Utensilios

Instructions

  • Clean the strawberries, remove the stems, and transfer them to a blender.
  • Add the sugar and two cups of water and blend until smooth.
  • Tip: Blending the sugar with the strawberries is the easiest way to dissolve it.
  • Pour the strawberry mixture into a large pitcher. I usually don’t strain it, but if you would like to remove all the seeds for a velvety, fruity drink, use a fine mesh strainer.
  • Pour in the remaining 4 cups of water, stir, and adjust for sweetness.
  • Finally, place in the fridge until ready to serve, or enjoy immediately by pouring it over ice.

Notes

Tip: Don’t add ice to the pitcher; it will water down the agua fresca. Instead, add ice cubes to the glasses before serving.
The nutrition label is calculated with 1/4 cup of sugar.
* The amount of sugar depends on your taste. I suggest starting with 1/4 cup and add more if needed.
