I bet most of your best friends are sweet. I know mine are. Your friends, like mine, are likely many other things, too, of course. They’re fierce, intelligent, strong, but they’re all sweet, even if in different ways. It turns out now there’s a name for each of the different, sweet, personality traits.
Wouldn’t it be great to know your own?
Thanks to the good folks at Truvia® for making this sweet post possible. As always, my comments, opinions, and my love for me-time are my own.
Sweetness Deconstructed
Now there’s a way to find out.
Everyone can use a little sweetness in their life, right? So Truvia® has teamed up with Vanessa Hill, the host of PBS’s psychology series BrainCraft, to launch a collection of content showing that Sweet Matters, including a personality quiz illuminating different types of sweet personality traits.
In partnership with Upworthy.com, Truvia has made it possible for you to take the quiz. It’s focused on sweet actions and sweet personalities, and you can find it right here.
I did it! Why not take a moment to take the quiz yourself? Then read on and I’ll share my results.
My results indicate I’m in the Tactfully Sweet category. Tactfully Sweet personalities are compassionate and start by making sure that they are their best selves first. I’m glad about that, because I love encouraging moms to practice self-care and to schedule their own me-time, which is exactly what I’m doing for myself today!
Here’s one example of how I like to do just that.
Time for Me
I enjoy relaxing by designing and making jewelry. I love everything about it from beginning to end. I like setting time aside for myself, gathering the jewelry making materials, sitting down with a warm cup of sweet, spiced tea, and letting my creativity flow. I always feel refreshed and contented afterward.
There is something about working with my hands that just makes me happy.
So I thought, wouldn’t it be nice to take some me-time, just as I described, and create something for one of my sweet friends?
So I did. I set aside time and designed a bracelet, some earrings and created my own blend of comforting tea to give as a gift to a dear friend. In addition, I attached some of the Truvia Natural Sweetener packets, which now include uplifting sweet phrases on every packet, just like the ones below. Perfect, right?! To get your own, look for the Truvia 40 Natural Sweetener packets at your favorite market!
Below, I’ve included my recipe for a simple, spiced tea.
If you make your own spiced tea, be sure to snap a photo and share it with us on social media using the #mamalatinatipsrecipes hashtag. I’d love to see it, and have a chance to share it as well. Here’s my own spiced tea mix recipe.
Silvia’s Spiced Tea Mix
Makes 4 servings
- 2 1/2 cups of water
- 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon orange zest
- Pinch of black pepper
- 4-8 Truvía Natural Sweetener packets
Bring water to the boil, turn off heat. Add the spices, cover and let rest for 1 minute.
Using a coffee filter, cheesecloth or tea strainer, filter the tea into a teapot.
Sweeten with Truvía.
A few notes:
- Stick to the 1 minute of resting, the orange zest can make the tea a little sour if you wait longer.
- If you have fresh ginger, even better, add to your taste.
- Please don’t skip the black pepper, you just need a small pinch, it will bring the flavors to life.
How do you like to share your sweetness? Leave me a comment. Also, if you haven’t already, remember to visit Upworthy.com to take the sweet personality traits quiz to find out what motivates you to be sweet and kind. Then come back and share your results here or on social media using #mamalatinatips and #truvia

How fun! I got the same result as you, “Tactfully Sweet” which makes sense, lol.
I like kawaii stuff and your photos are so cute. Anyway, I am not so much into tea. The only thing I drink regularly is ginger with turmeric 🙂 I like it so much.
I love truvia. It does not have the weird after taste. The spiced tea recipe looks promising !
Great to hear! I like spiced tea, especially with tons of ginger and cinnamon.
I love when you do manualidades. This such a great idea!
Thank you! Isn’t cute?
Yum! I’ve never made a spiced tea before, but this sounds delicious. I’m a little worried about the ginger though – do you think that overpowers the other flavors?
In my experience it doesn’t, but then I love ginger 🙂 You can start with less and add more as you like.
