Save a Life with Hands-Only CPR

During this season of giving, why not take just 2 minutes to learn how you can prepare yourself for the possibility of giving the gift of life? Sounds amazing, right? It doesn’t cost a thing and, chances are, the life you may save could be someone very close to you.

Hands-only CPR

Thanks to the great folks at Anthem Foundation for making this post about Hands-Only CPR possible. As always, my comments, opinions and desire to share potentially life saving information with my community are my own.

You’ve probably guessed by now that I’m talking about preparing yourself for Hands-Only CPR.

Over a third of a million cardiac arrests happen outside of hospitals each year in the United States. Most happen in homes and other residential areas, and, sadly, most cardiac arrest victims don’t survive.

CPR, especially when performed immediately, can double, even triple a cardiac arrest victim’s chances of survival. Yet only half of cardiac arrest victims receive CPR from bystanders.

Hands-only CPR makes it so simple. Watch this short video to find out more life affirming information (1:19):

The link below is to a video called, “Mama Knows Best,” and runs just 1 minute and 30 seconds. It explains the two simple steps for Hands-only CPR in Spanish and English. Check it out!

It’s interesting to learn that over a third of cardiac arrests happen outside of hospitals each year in the United States. My grandma had a cardiac arrest recently and I didn’t know how to help her or handle the situation. I’ll be sure to look into CPR classes to see if it would benefit my life.
