A nationwide, voluntary product recall has been initiated by a Pennsylvania baby wipes manufacturer, Nutek Disposables, Inc., because some packages may contain a bacteria called Burkholderia cepacia (B. cepacia).

Affected brands include Cuties, Diapers.com, Femtex, Fred’s, Kidgets, Member’s Mark, Simply Right, Sunny Smiles, Tender Touch, and Well Beginnings.

The wipes were sold to various retailers.

The press release states that consumers who have certain health problems, like a weakened immune system or lung diseases, particularly cystic fibrosis, and who have used one of the affected wipes, should call their doctor promptly for medical advice.

In any event, consumers who have purchased this product can return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
