What is it about glass holiday ornaments? I get such a feeling of nostalgia just thinking about them, and they always remind me of my grandmother who loved them, too. The thing is they are so delicate, I find myself treating them with extra tenderness, and this in turn make me feel somehow more connected to them.
I enjoy the memories they conjure when I get them out of storage each year. Each reminds me of a specific time from my childhood, usually the time when I bought or received the ornament, but the memories can be intense, including the yummy smells of grandma’s cooking.
