April showers bring May flowers! And with them come all kinds of vibrant colors. I love colors and vibrant colors are such an important part of my Mexican culture.
This month the good folks over at Lowe’s challenged me to do a project using PANTONE Universe’s Color of the Year, Emerald Green, available exclusively at Lowe’s in Valspar Signature Paint. The project could be anything, it just had to utilize this spectacular color.
Two Great and Simple Lessons
So we took an old table and chair, neither of which belonged with the other and both of which were quite a bit worse for wear, and we gave them a makeover. And here they are!
Although a very simple project, I’m very happy for having done it, because it reminded me of how a little bit of paint and one spectacular color can make a world of difference. It can literally make something look new again.
(I could kick myself around the block for not taking before pictures. But believe me, the chair was especially ragged looking. It was water stained and the wood had taken on a sort of splotchy, gray look)
The other great lesson in all of this is it’s possible to take two things that don’t go together and make them a set. It’s a great way to repurpose mismatched items that aren’t yet reaching their full potential in the house. What do you think? What can you do to spruce things up at your house this Spring?
