Year after year Disney surprises me with new programs, attractions, and activities, but this year is extra special for me. Not only because I recently became a Babble Disney Voices contributor, but also because, about a month ago, I received a magical invitation.
For each of the last three years, Walt Disney World has hosted a very special conference, the Social Media Moms Celebration. It’s a conference for moms and dads in social media and it’s by invitation only. And this year, the magical invitation arrived in my email inbox, an invitation I just couldn’t refuse. So at this moment, after two buses, a car, and a plane, I’m here in Orlando writing to you.
And thanks to this event, I’ll be able to bring you the latest about what Disney has in store this summer!
For instance, a few days back, Disney announced their Monstrous Summer, with special activities planned at all Disney Parks in the United States. Everything begins with a 24 hour party from 6 a.m. May 24th, through 6 a.m. May 25th, 2013:
And at Disneyland there’s a new show, “Mickey and the Magical Map,” and a new place to see the princesses, “Fantasy Faire.” In addition, they are having special activities like a character pajama party in Toontown and the fantastic Pixar Play Parade.
At Walt Disney World, Mike and Sully, beloved characters from Monsters Inc., will be the Grand Marshals of the “Celebrate a Dream Come True” parade, and they will have a Late-Night Dance Party in and around the courtyard of Cinderella’s Castle.
But you don’t need to wait for May 24th to experience a little Disney magic, the magic starts right now with the launch of the new Disney Story app, a lovely app which allows you to convert your photos from special moments into wonderful, shareable stories. I’ll be telling you much more about it very soon!
And this Saturday, May 11th, the Disney Royal Court will be welcoming Princess Merida into their fold, and I will be there for the coronation to bring you all the details. You can’t miss it!
