You know I don’t do many food product reviews. When I do, I only write about the things I like, I just can’t see spending much of your time or mine on the stuff I don’t. Believe me, there are many I never write about.
So this is one of the good things.
When I picked up the little pouch of applesauce, the first thing that caught my eye was its description. Toddler applesauce: banana, mango, kiwi.
Sounds yummy!
Of course, if you are like me, and I suspect you are, the first thing you do when you pick up a new product is flip the package around to find out what kind of mischief is lurking in the ingredients. This is what I read:

Apple, Banana, Mango, Kiwi, Citric Acid, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Lemon Juice Concentrate.
That’s it! No weird stuff! Isn’t that a beautiful thing? (Wait, wait, I feel a tear coming to my eye!)
What a great thing to know we are being heard, right moms?
So I tried it and I liked it. Along with all those tropical flavors, the banana, mango, kiwi applesauce had just the right balance of sweetness and tartness.
And it comes in a little pouch which makes it great for a nutritious, on-the-go snack for the kids. It’s perfect for them and can be recapped and put in the fridge when my younger son, who’s famous for eating just half of everything, doesn’t eat it all at once.
