Go Red For Women® with Mimi’s Cafe®

February is Heart Disease Awareness Month which is particularly important to mention because heart disease is the number one cause of death in Latinas.  Can you believe it?  I could hardly believe it when I first found out!

That’s why I’m hoping you will join the campaign to raise awareness, too.  So this month, I’ve been highlighting different events and campaigns to give you resources and options to consider.  I mentioned the Heart Truth campaign here, and last week, the events and programs scheduled by Discovery Familia here.  So today, I want to let you know about the great contribution to the cause made by the folks at Mimi´s Café and how you can participate.

Mimi's Cafe

A week ago Friday was Red Dress Day and Mimi’s Cafe celebrated at all their restaurants.  So, three friends and I got dressed up in red and went down to Mimi’s to enjoy a delicious lunch and chat about everything in our lives.  We had a great time!  We also had the opportunity to find out more about how Mimi’s Cafe is supporting the American Heart Association and the Go Red For Women campaign during which Mimi’s Cafe hopes to raise $150,000 in donations during the month of February!

Wear Red Dress Day

So, during the month of February, I encourage you to stop by Mimi’s Cafe and support their efforts.  With just a one dollar donation, receive up to $35 in saving on a future visit, and with a donation of at least $5, also receive a red dress pin to wear proudly and continue to raise awareness all month long and beyond.  One hundred percent of your donation will go to support the Go Red for Women movement.  And when you stop by to make your donation, why not indulge in one of their delicious dishes, here is just some of what we enjoyed.
