A Fast and Delicious Snack

Para español da click aquí.

So I guess you are getting ready to send your kids back to school or maybe they are in school already.  My older boy started last week and my little one starts this week.  Part of my “back to school routine” is creating snacks and lunches that are fast to make, nutritious, and delicious.  So today I’m sharing a recipe I love, love, love, not just because it is super easy to make,  but also because it is truly delicious.  My kids love it and I make it either for a quick snack or I add a glass of milk to make a lunch.

The recipe comes from a site I’ve been enjoying working for, www.readyseteat.com, I invite you to give it a try, you will find lots of other recipes there and a few reviews by me!

Peanut Butter-Apple Wraps

4 portions (one wrap each)

Ingredients

  • 4 whole wheat flour tortillas (8 inch)
  • 1/2 cup Peter Pan® Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 6 tablespoons granola cereal
  • 1 large red-skinned apple
  1. Spread each tortilla to 1/2 inch of the edge with 2 tablespoons peanut butter. Sprinkle 1-1/2 tablespoons granola over lower two-thirds of peanut butter.
  2. Cut apple into quarters; remove core and chop into small pieces. Sprinkle apple evenly over granola.
  3. Start rolling each tortilla on apple end. Fold over 1 edge and continue rolling up, leaving one end open. OR, fold over both edges and continue rolling up burrito style.

Did I say easy and delicious?

Great recipe Silvia! Peanut butter and apples is one of my fave snacks. My husband teases me because I have a peanut butter problem…. I always think I need it when I’m at the store, and I always have one in the cabinet. There was one day a few weeks ago when he discovered I had 3 jars of peanut butter. When we went to the store this weekend, he said, “I think you might need peanut butter!” LOL

I love peanut butter. I eat it plain out of the jar, in a sandwich with honey on wheat bread or I dip celery sticks into the peanut butter.

Wow — quick and easy is right — and so much goodness. Yum! I love to eat peanut butter spread directly on apple slices.

I’m happy with anything that has peanut butter in it. I’m kind of obsessed. and it’s great in protein, especially for your growing kids! good luck with all those lunches you’ll be packing!
