Hungry? I love the BLT, in fact, I normally won’t mess around with it unless I have something really special in mind. And I wouldn’t share unless I think it either matches or surpasses the classic, which is very hard to do.
If you live in Mexico or Latin America, the term BLT may be foreign to you. I hadn’t heard of it until moving to the USA. BLT stands for Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato and it’s a simple yet delicious sandwich.
Well this includes one of my absolute favorite ingredients, chipotle. I also added a little bit of spinach to increase my greens consumption. Hidden Valley has released a new line of delicious sandwich spreads and dips, one is called Spicy Chipotle Pepper. When I saw it I knew it would be the perfect pairing for my Mexican BLT.
So here’s a South of the Border twist on a North of the Border classic, I call it my Mexican Chipotle BLT and I hope you enjoy it:
- 2 Slices of Your Favorite Bread
- Hidden Valley Spicy Chipotle Pepper Sandwich Spread
- Romaine Lettuce
- 2 Slices of Bacon
- Tomato, sliced
- Avocado, sliced (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
I like my bread toasted, but this sandwich is delicious either way. Spread a generous amount of the Hidden Valley Spicy Chipotle on both bread slices. Add the rest of the ingredients, that’s it!
Try it out and let me know what you think.
And make sure to try the other Hidden Valley™ Sandwich Spreads & Dips: Smoked Bacon Ranch, Country Herb Ranch, and Oven Roasted Garlic Parmesan. The spreads are made with cream cheese and white beans, they have one-third the calories of mayonnaise and only two grams of fat per serving. Check out more delicious recipes here.
Hidden Valley’s line of new Sandwich Spreads & Dips will take your boring sandwich routine to another level. With new flavors like Spicy Chipotle Pepper and Oven Roasted Garlic Parmesan, your mouth will be thanking you and you’ll be on your way to delivering sandwich-envy.
