My Fast Interview with Flash from Zootopia

The first Zootopia trailer I ever saw was in a theater and featured Judy “running a plate” at the DMV (Department of Mammal Vehicles) with the help of Nick's friend Flash, the sloth. I laughed so hard my belly hurt! I never imagined I would be interviewing him myself just a few months later.

Here is my fast interview with Flash:

Flash is voiced by Raymond Persi, a talented director, animator, screenwriter, producer, storyboard artist, and actor. He worked at Fox Studios as a Director for The Simpsons before moving to Walt Disney Studios to work on projects like Wreck-it Ralph, Frozen, Feast, and now, Zootopia.

As an aside, another special project for Persi was the short, Get a Horse. He told us, “… the cool thing was I got to work on some of the little voices for the Horse Caller. What was neat about that was …they used archival audio of Walt Disney as Mickey Mouse for the short. So I got to share a laugh with Walt Disney, which is really cool.”

Persi said Zootopia Director, Rich Moore, and Head of Story, Jim Reardon, asked him to do the scratch voice for Flash. A scratch voice, as you may know, is a voice used while making a movie before the actors do the final voice for the film.

But he said they liked it, and chose that first recording to use in the film. Let's see it again:

Zootopia will be available on Blu-ray, DVD, HD, and Disney Movies Anywhere tomorrow June 7th, and I will have a giveaway here at Mama Latina Tips very soon, stay tuned!

Enjoy!

Thanks to the Walt Disney Studios for their invitation, lodging, and transportation to LA. All comments, opinions and my love for Disney movies are my own.
