PL Travers and Walt Disney in Saving Mr. Banks

Of course it’s very exciting that “Frozen” will be available in stores tomorrow, I can’t wait. But “Saving Mr. Banks” is also available tomorrow, March 18th, on Blu-ray + Digital Copy, DVD, Digital HD and On-Demand, and I wanted to be sure to mention it today because it’s really a lovely film and well worth seeing.

Mr. Travers and Pamela

It tells the fascinating story of Walt Disney’s 20 year struggle to secure the rights to Mary Poppins from her creator, author PL Travers, a strong and complex woman. Disney’s struggle began when he promised his daughter he would make a movie of the beloved children’s book, but little did he know just how challenging fulfilling that promise would be.

Sherman Brothers in Saving Mr. Banks

The movie stars Hollywood greats Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson and comes with never-before-seen bonus features, including “The Walt Disney Studios: From Poppins to Present,” in which director John Lee Hancock takes us on an insider’s tour of Disney Studios today and reflects on studio life during the creation of Mary Poppins.

My favorite part in the trailer was when Mr. Disney complimented Mrs. Travers on her looks, and she said she thought it was inappropriate!

My favorite part in the trailer is when Walt Disney says to Mrs. Travers, “It isn’t the chidren she comes to save, it’s their father. It’s your father

I like the clothing that they were back then. I see ladies should be more modest in what they wear.
