Thanks to the great folks at Kimberly-Clark for sponsoring this post. My comments and opinions are my own.

The Results Are In…

Well, now!

Remember how a few weeks back I asked you to help me settle a friendly little household dispute? My husband and I just couldn’t agree on whether the toilet paper roll should dispense from over the top or underneath.

Wow! There are some strong opinions out there! I love that about you all.

And you’ve made my husband a very happy man. Since receiving the results of our little, unscientific, anecdotal, grossly unreliable, and oh-so-very-clearly-flawed survey, he has been strutting around like a peacock. You’d think he’d just won a Noble Prize for Physics.

By an approximate and, sadly, overwhelming margin of well over 2.5 to 1, the readers of Mama Latina Tips say, “Over,” is the way to go. (Interestingly, this is a combined result from responses in Spanish and English, but on the Spanish side alone, the margin was about the same in favor of under! There were just a lot more responses in English.)

What You Said

Now I want to share a few of your comments, since opinions appear strong on both sides of the aisle. Many used exclamation marks, which means, at least I take it to mean, you feel strongly about it. Many of you used the word definitely, too, as in,” definitely over!” or “definitely under!”

Quite a few used the phrase, “in this house,” which I understood as, “If you are going to live in this house, the toilet roll will remain over (or under, whichever the case may be).”  A number of you mentioned that, like me, you have married someone who feels the opposite from you. Pobrecitas, I feel your pain. And interestingly, two or three of you mentioned that it should be “under” only if there is a cat in the house.

Ky2here said, “Over- and this discussion is over, OVER I TELL YOU!!!!”

Which brings me to Susan C, who said, “I put it on under, but I’m thrilled if anyone in my household puts it on either way!,” which is probably something most of us can agree on, so I’ll leave that as the final word….except to say this, definitely under!

Well, whether you agree with me or not about the results of the survey, today’s giveaway brings new meaning to the phrase, “I’ve got your back!” Or more technically, your bum!

I love this giveaway because it’s for 96 rolls of toilet paper, and not just any toilet paper, but 12 (4 packs) of Cottonelle Clean Care and 12 (4 packs) of Cottonelle Ultra Care. That’s correct, 24 (4 packs) total! If you are the lucky winner, you’d better have some storage space and you can put it on the dispenser any way you want.

Lastly, while many families stock up on essentials at the beginning of each month, most families find themselves in need of fill-in trips at mid-month to pick up the necessities. So I just wanted to thank the folks at Kimberly-Clark for their generosity because, whether it’s providing for these giveaways, or it’s helping us with tips to stretch our budgets at their Pick Up the Values Facebook page or offering valuable coupons to help us meet the growing needs of our families at the Pick Up the Values website, Kimberly-Clark really has us covered.

Now to the giveaway!

Win It!

To participate for the chance to win  24 (4 packs) of Cottonelle toilet paper is easy. Just leave me a comment telling me where on earth you think you are going to store 96 rolls of toilet paper!  That’s it! That is your required entry.

I will store them by making a Cottonelle fort and hide inside for a little peace and quiet. Fort Cottonelle may not last long but it will be sweet… and soft.

In the hall closet! …and the kitchen closet, and the garage, and probably a few bookshelves..

November 10, 2013 at 5:51 am Kim Ripley 20

I have plenty of room in my basement!

I think if I take everything else out of the hall closet it might work. We go through toilet paper like water in my house so I don’t think storage will be a problem for long.

I will store the toilet paper in the living room. We need a new chair, so I will have the children construct one made entirely from toilet paper!
