As a Lowe’s Creative Ideas Ambassador, I received a gift card in order to complete this project. As always my comments and opinions are my own. Enjoy!
Football season is here and with it one of the most American of institutions, tailgating.
I’m no expert, but I suspect early Americans started getting used to the idea of eating off the back of a wagon as long as 170 years ago when the great California Gold Rush was on.
Of course, there are lots of reasons why it’s still so popular. It’s convenient, for one, and flexible. And of course the price is right. Plus you can do it almost anywhere.
Tailgating isn’t done much where I come from, but it just so happens I was thinking about taking my family on a picnic at the beach when my friends at Lowe’s asked me to do some Tailgating, so I thought I’d give it a try.
I don’t know if there are rules for tailgating, but I wanted to do something, well, a little unusual. So we made a little combination centerpiece/vase/napkin holder/cupholder/utensil holder made out of PVC from Lowe’s. My kids loved the idea and it gave a sort cool, civilized vibe to the table, considering the flowers and all. And what do you think of my cool BBQ, too?
And of course, I couldn’t leave out the drinks. So we made a wine gutter to keep things cool out of gutter material with end caps that lay perfectly over the entire length of the tailgate. Very nice, convenient, efficient with the ice and easy to clean.
Ideas can come even when you are picnicking at the beach. Would you like some free inspiration for your own great ideas? I invite you to sign up for the Lowe’s Creative Ideas Magazine. They have ideas for all kinds of projects in and around the home.
