Dia de Reyes XBox 360 with Kinect Giveaway

Día de Reyes is just around the corner. Do you celebrate it? It’s the big day in Mexico when we celebrate the arrival of Melchor, Gaspar y Balthazar, the three kings who brought gold, frankincense, and myrrh to baby Jesus in the manger. It’s the day kids (and some adults as well) receive their Christmas gifts in Mexico and other Latin countries. My kids are counting down the days!

We celebrate it every year in our home and this year is no exception. Bakeries are already showing their beautiful Roscas de Reyes, their traditional oval bread loaves prepared specially for the day. We eat this yummy bread with hot chocolate each year and my kids love it, specially when they get to cut in to it, since Roscas de Reyes have little dolls inside representing Baby Jesus. Whoever “uncovers” one, wins, and is in charge of organizing a party where tamales and atole are served on Dia de la Candelaria, February 2nd.

As I mentioned, on Dia de Reyes my kids receive their Christmas gifts so they write letters beforehand to the Reyes Magos requesting their favorite toys. Sometimes I make it a little easier for the Reyes and help them fulfill my boys’ wish lists.
