I Want to Wear a Bikini….(some day)

I’ve never worn a bikini, I don’t think my mom liked them, so she never bought one for me.  When I was able to make my own decisions and buy my own things, I never felt the need to buy one. I don’t know why, maybe because I’ve been wearing one piece bathing suits all my life.  But now, I’m feeling I would like to wear one some day.

Yet after two kids and a big change in my diet after moving to the USA from Mexico, I’ve gained a few pounds.  Well, maybe that’s an understatement, let’s just say I’m a few sizes larger than I used to be.

I believe my family and I have healthy habits and our diet is good, I think my problem is portion control, a few sweets (I love sweets), and I don’t exercise enough.  When I lived in Mexico I didn’t own a car (I didn’t need it) and walked everywhere, and in addition to going to the gym a few times per week, I went dancing EVERY weekend. Yep, I love dancing.  Being a blogger forces me to sit in front of the computer for hours and I don’t schedule exercise like I should.

The other problem I’ve found is that if I do decide to exercise or follow a diet, I always expect  fast results.  Yes I know, the best way is to lose it slowly, but I think sometimes I need a little push. I think I need to see results quickly at first so it boosts my confidence and helps me to stay on track, and then I’m ok with a slower pace of weight loss.

Before my wedding 11 years ago, I drank slim fast shakes for a month and I felt amazing on my wedding day.  Here I was.

So now I’ve come full circle. A few weeks ago I was invited to be a Slim Fast Ambassador for the summer and I couldn’t resist the idea of getting back to my ideal weight, so I accepted.  How can I not when I followed the diet before with great results?  What I need right now is a little boost in getting started with my weight loss. I have a trip to the beach next month and I think this is the perfect time to take the opportunity and do something for me.  I know I’m not going to be able to wear a bikini in a month, but it’s a great goal.  Maybe by the time I reach the goal I won’t care about wearing the bikini, but I’ll have the choice!

I lost 30 pounds in about 6 months with a nutritionist. (very slow, but steady) Can’t wait to see how you do with SlimFast!
