Sometimes I feel like watching a movie just for me.  You know?  Not a kid’s movie, not an action movie, just a light, sweet, chica movie, and that’s exactly what I did. Monte Carlo is one of those movies that leaves you with a smile on your face.  It appealed to me because it’s a story about girls, about love, and about Europe!  It has fashion…shoes, dresses, glamour, jewelry… and very good looking guys.  But not only that, it highlights themes like the importance of friendship, family, being oneself, and ultimately, at least, doing the right thing.   And Selena Gomez is natural and down to earth, sweet, a good actress, and a latina!

Monte Carlo tells the story of Grace (Selena Gomez), a very kind, hard-working girl who travels to Paris with her best friend Emma (Katie Cassidy) and her step-sister Meg (Leighton Meester).   Just when they thought their trip was ending after being left behind by their tour bus, Grace is mistaken for a very wealthy heiress. A week of glamour in Monte Carlo follows….I’m not telling you the end!

Monte Carlo releases on Blu-ray and DVD today, Tuesday, October 18th, 2011.  It is rated PG,  has a duration of 2.5 hours, and includes audio and subtitles in English and Spanish.  Some of the special features include:
