Curious George is a big favorite in this house and we are thrilled about the new season starting this Labor Day, Monday, September 5th!  (please check your local listings)

The new season is fabulous!  George will explore the arts, music, dancing, sculpting, painting, photography, and more.

The two first episodes are classic George.  In “Auctioneer George,” George learns about auctions the hard way when he bids, and bids, and bids, for a pair of red elephant mittens.  He has just one dollar, but the price he has to pay is $100.  The man with the yellow hat explains to George how to count up to 100 and together they try to re-auction the mittens.  See what happens next…..this Monday.

Then next episode, “Sock Monkey Opera,” Betsy gets the chicken pox and can’t see her favorite opera, Hansel and Gretel.  George goes in her place and enjoys every minute of it.  When George gets home he decides to cheer up Betsy by performing the opera himself.

But that’s not all, here are the titles of more new episodes:

On Tuesday, September 6th, George tries to solve mysteries in “Hamster Cam,” and “The Great Monkey Detective.”

On Wednesday, September 7th, George explores sculpting and photography in “George and the Giant Thumb,” and “Shutter Monkey.”

And more:

I’m so pleased that PBS is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by re-airing episodes starring our favorite duo, George and Marco, the week of September 19th, you don’t want to miss it!

Get ready for a Curious George Holiday Spectacular on Wednesday, November 23rd, when PBS kids will feature the original “Curious George” feature film, followed by “Curious George 2: Follow that Monkey” and “Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas.”

Coming up in February Curious George celebrates the art of movement and dance with the Curious George Exercise your Creativity Dance Contest.  Parents will be invited to send in videos of their little monkeys dancing.  Videos will be posted on the Curious George website and one lucky dancer will receive a special prize.  More details to come.

And lastly, next April Curious George celebrates Earth Day with the special episode “Junk Monkey” where George sees treasures hidden in what others consider trash.  He takes his findings to his apartment to sort them out by shape and size.

What do you think? Sounds like fun doesn’t it?

Finally,  I’m happy to announce there will be another Curious George twitter party soon (remember the last one?) I’ll bring you the details in a future post.

Have a very curious day!

Disclosure:  My family received a wonderful Curious George Package to facilitate this post.  This post is also part of a compensated campaign with Latina Bloggers Connect.  My opinions and devotion to George are solely my own.
