Life with kids is always full of surprises and memorable moments.  Anything and everything can happen in my house with two small boys in it, most of the time there is a lot of energy flowing around here, but there are tender moments as well.  Today I would like to share one of my own memorable moments.

I love to cook and I love it even more when my kids want to help me.  Cooking is fun and always teaches something.  The last time we cooked together we made pizzas from scratch.  The kids got to choose their favorite toppings and of course they especially loved getting their hands messy… and I let them.  I just kept a bottle of soap in the kitchen, like Johnson´s Naturals hand & face foam, for my kids’ tender hands, so they didn’t need to run to the bathroom dropping bits of food on the way.

Now it is your turn.  Would you like to share one of your memorable moments with your kids?

Just to make it interesting, let’s throw a giveaway into the mix, courtesy of our friends at Johnson’s.  One lucky Mama Latina Tips reader will win:

  • A $50 gift card
  • A Johnson’s bag
  • Johnson’s baby products (value aprox $50)

Cool, don’t you think?  To participate for your chance to win,  you just need to tell me your most memorable moment with your kids and include a tip on how you use Johnson’s products.

That’s it, super easy, good luck!

This giveaway will end on Thursday, June 23th, at 12 noon PST.  Open to US residents.  I will choose the memorable moment I like the best and I will notify the winner by email.  Winner must respond to notification email within 8 hours or a new winner will be chosen.  Void where prohibited.  Entries/Comments that do not follow the submission guidelines will be invalid.

And before I say goodbye for today let me remind you again about Johnson’s Treasuring Everyday Joy™ Campaign, which encourages parents to pause, reflect, and promise to celebrate the everyday joy a baby brings to a parent’s life – and to pay it forward.  To participate please check out the Facebook page where Johnson’s will host a series of photo contests throughout the rest of the year.  And for every “like” at Facebook.com/johnsonsbaby Johnson’s will donate $1 to March of Dimes.

Disclosure: I will receive a similar Johnson’s package.  All opinions in this post and my messy kitchen are solely my own.

Johnson & Johnson is a brand that my family has used faithfully. It brings back memories of my childhood. I remember my mother using the Johnson’s pink body lotion as well as the yellow head-to-toe body wash. Fast forward to today, I use these products on my little girls as well. I’ve had many moments of joy with my girls. The greatest moment of joy that I’ve had is the birth of my first. WOW, what a miracle! I never knew how much you could love a small little being instantly and immensely. It is such a tender moment that neither my husband or I will ever forget. I loved my first one so much, I didn’t know if it would be possible to love another just as much. The instant my second baby was born, I immediately fell in love. Johnson & Johnson is a brand I trust. The first baths included their products, the pink lotions and yellow body wash. It is hard being a mother some days, but the aroma of the Johnson pink baby lotion brings me back to the birth of my miracles and cuddling my clean newborn at the hospital. It makes a challenging day easier. That is why there is a daily lather of the pink lotion at my house. I love my girls. Making memories with them is the best and I treasure every small moment with them. I love their contagious laughs and giggle! I can never go wrong with hugs and kisses form them. After all, I will only be able to care for them a short period of time, before they grow up and blossom. Also, the Johnson & Johnson Desitin diaper rash cream has been a life savor! I can always count on it working!

children laughs and giggle are the best!

Our bets moments happen when we camp. We always have lots of fun telling stories and spending quality time together.
We love Johnson baby lotion, it heals dried skin.

June 23, 2011 at 10:00 pm Silvia 4

I haven’t camp with my kids yet, and I’m looking forward to it!

love johnsons and johnsons..I keep a body of body wash at the backdoor…after gardening and hanging out they get a washdown with that and the jj- seems like fun to them and they can skip a bath :)

I keep soap at the sink too, we made tortillas this afternoon for a late lunch early dinner- anything to spend time together and create memories. I want to try the naturals line

June 23, 2011 at 10:01 pm Silvia 6

No too long ago we made tortillas, it was fun!

We are having our first child in a few weeks, so I have to say my most memorable moment so far has been feeling her kick for the firs time. I have a J&J bath set all ready for her upon arrival, and I have used Johnson’s products myself since I was born. Just this morning I used their baby powder after I showered, and I use their baby lotion daily. It’s wonderful for pregnant skin! Thank you for the lovely giveaway.

Your most memorable moment with your kids and include a tip on how you use Johnson’s products:

I use Johnson’s Baby powder on my body before bed. I love feeling fresh. I also use their Baby Lotion to moisturize. My most memorable moment with my kids was at Disney World. It was 9:00 at night, and the Electrical Water Parade went by as we sat in the dark on lounge chairs. It was pure magic, the kids were enchanted.

June 23, 2011 at 10:07 pm Silvia 10

We love Disney! and Parades are my favorite thing!

June 22, 2011 at 4:53 pm Erica C. 11

Our last vacation was one of my most memorable time with our son. We all fell asleep together after a long day at the beach. Just a nice, relaxing time.
I always have Johnson’s baby oil in the shower to exfoliate my legs to make them extra smooth.

June 23, 2011 at 10:08 pm Silvia 12

Going to the beach is the best!

June 22, 2011 at 4:59 pm Margaret Smith 13

My most memorable moment was my sons first word…he said Shad, which is part of our cats name (Shadow). I had been trying for him to say Dad or Da-da for a couple of weeks and out of the blue, he reaches for our cat and says Shad.
I keep J & J baby Lotion on our bathroom shelf and kitchen counter and after washing my hands, I apply a little to help keep my hands from being dry and getting red.
Thanks so much

June 23, 2011 at 10:08 pm Silvia 14

LOL love it!

There have been so many memorable moments with my kids. How would I even pick just one? I’d say the most recent would be the awesome camping trip we just returned home from. It was our first camping trip made as a family. So much fun to watch enjoying the bon fire and getting dirty in the stream.

We came home today and used Johnson’s Buddy Bars. Great soap for even the littlest ones. Love that the soap doesn’t slip out of their hands. Really encourages them to be able to clean themselves.

June 22, 2011 at 5:53 pm charline 16

The most memorable moment recently with the kids is when we went swimming over the weekend and I taught both of the boys to doggy paddle. I was so excited and so were they. The looks on their faces and them saying I did it, I did it. They won’t forget it nor will I.
My tip
I always keep johnson’s baby oil in the bath, its great to rub on your skin after a hot bath to keep it smooth and soft.

June 22, 2011 at 7:05 pm Gail Crawford 17

My most memorable moment with my kids was when the first time we let them wade in the water in the lake.

June 22, 2011 at 8:05 pm Vickie Ferrari 18

I have 5 children and there are so many memorable moments, but I really like our memories of summer. We spent a lot of time playing games, doing crafts, cooking, and playing outside. I love our time together as a family.

June 22, 2011 at 8:06 pm Pat 19

Love to remember attending my daughter’s school plays.

We use Johnson’s baby lotion every day even though we have no babies in our house.

June 22, 2011 at 8:36 pm Sassy 20

My favorite memories with my kids are from us going to Disneyland together. Seeing their excitement and happiness was so freaking fun. My daughter met Cinderella and was beyond happy. My son absolutely loved the Monsters Inc. ride.

After my son takes his bath, we use plenty of Johnson and Johnson lotion. I have always loved the smell and feel of it.

I have so many memorable moment with my daughter, I think the most favorite is the one when she was about 2. It was her first Christmas where she really new what was going on. She had to have a sucker while she opened her presents, and when she discovered the kitty had got into her presents, she got really mad. She started pointing at the present and the kitty saying “keekee bad” I am so grateful I got that moment on tape. So when she gets older and has children we can pull it all out and show them how sweet and adorable their momma was when she was younger. To this day we still use Johnson and Johnson products, I love how they make my skin feel and smell.

June 22, 2011 at 8:54 pm Christina 22

I always remember that familiar Johnsons baby shampoo smell from when I was little until now with my own kids. Cannot use Johnsons on my son per the dr because of a allergy, but my daughter was bathed and groomed with Johnsons products. Always used to use the lotion and count her toes and fingers to keep her still while I did it.

June 22, 2011 at 9:18 pm amie d 23

My most memorable moment of my son growing up is his first steps. We were actually at a friends baby shower and he was walking around holding onto the chairs and then he let go and took two steps! I will never ever foget the proud feeling I had! We have always loved and used Johnson’s products! Our fave is the Original Baby Shampoo. It has a smell you can recognize anywhere and it just makes you happy!

My most memorable moment is when my mother who had been very sick and was in the hosopital for 3 weeks came home. She was weak and depressed because she was so weak and couldn’t get around like she used to. Her therapist came by with in home exercises she had to do to build her strength up. My 3 year old then watched every move the therapist made and when she was done she stood up and said come on nana I show you and she started doing these exercises. It was so cute and funny to watch her try to do these and she put everything she had into them My mom got such a kick out of it that she started doing it with her and every day my 3 year old would say ok nana let’s kick it and she started doing the exercises with my mom. In know time my mom started to improve and my 3 year old became a pro at the exercises . My tip is to help with pushing back your cuticles rub Johnson’s baby oil into cuticle first to soften it up first.

Grandmother and grandchild is a beautiful relationship! I remember my grandmother with much love!

June 22, 2011 at 10:15 pm Debbie C 26

Immediately after delivery, they laid my baby on my abdomen. He was facing me, eyes squeezed tightly shut, looking so unhappy. Then, he opened his eyes and we just looked at each other. He stopped crying and I started. I knew it was the start of a lifelong journey of unconditional love. There is nothing like it.

As for Johnson’s products… all babies should smell like Johnson’s! I like to mix a little Johnson’s baby lotion into hand gels to make them smell nice and be kinder to our hands.

June 23, 2011 at 10:17 pm Silvia 27

That first look is incredible! nothing like it!

June 22, 2011 at 10:35 pm Darcy B 28

My kids still use Johnson’s baby shampoo–they love it and don’t have to worry if it gets in their eyes. My favorite moment–well I’m actually a step Mother their Mother is alive and my 3 darlings spend one week with us the next with their Mom etc–every other week for years we live close to each other so it works out as wellas can be expected. We have the kids the same exact amount of time –yet my husband has to also pay child support–she’s remarried and has another 3 children as well. Money for our family is very tight one year we planned our first trip –to Disneyland we were so excited –their Mom decided she didn’t want us to have that first–so she took them to Disneyland the day before our trip that we had planned and paid for over 6 months. We still had an amazing time and my favorite moment took place there, we were riding the train that goes around the park and the guide was sitting right in front of us and he told my girls that they look just like their Mother (meaning me) I blushed and the girls thanked the man and didn’t explain that I wasn’t their Mother–he went on to tell them that they made lovely princesses (they were dressed as princesses with the tall cone hats and all) then said “isn’t your Mommy a princess? she’s not dressed like a princess” and my oldest repled “she’s the queen and queens get to wear anything they want to!”
Made me cry!

June 23, 2011 at 10:16 pm Silvia 29

oh Darcy, this is such a beautiful moment, yes, we moms are all Queens!!

June 22, 2011 at 11:23 pm hbomb 30

Movie night is the best nights, and every weekend we make more memories by sharing what we did all week, laughing at the movie, and just relaxing with everyone together.

Johnsons Lavendar/chamomile line is great for stress relieving and make the kids go to bed a little easier!

So far the most memorable moment I’ve had with my daughter is around Christmas time which is also her Birthday time. She was two years old almost and helping me make cookies and prep for Christmas dinner. She was my little shadow. She also got excited for the tree and all the lights. It was awesome seeing the holidays through her eyes.

I love to use the bedtime lotion on my son and massage him an hour before bedtime to calm him and relax him.

June 22, 2011 at 11:47 pm R Hicks 32

One of my most memorable moments was 2 years ago on xmas. Our son got his first bike and the look on his face and reaction was priceless.

We use the baby shampoo ourselves. Yep, we don’t like burning eyes either!

Baking with them is always a memorable event because of the mess and fun we have.

June 23, 2011 at 1:11 am Tammy Greer 34

My most memorable moment with my kids was shortly after my dad passed away. We went on vacation to Cabo San Lucas and it was such a sad time for me. One morning while there, I woke up thinking about my dad and instead of being sad, I started to smile. I remember looking at my kids and thinking how my dad would want us to be happy and go on with our lives. He enjoyed life so much and I knew he’d want us to have a good time. It ended up being the best vacation ever and I will always cherish the memories.
Johnson powder was a must on this vacation and it still is. We use it as a shampoo substitute (dry shampoo) as well as on the body.

Smiles are food for the soul.

June 23, 2011 at 1:33 am Betty C 36

My children have always spent a lot of time in the kitchen with me. One of the most memorable moments was when my daughter was only about 3 years old. I stepped out of the room to take care of the baby and when I got back to the kitchen my daughter had done her own brand of “cooking”. She had put several slices of bread in a sheet cake pan, poured milk over the top and added LOTS of salt. She wanted to bake it for dinner.
By the way, she is now a great cook.

June 23, 2011 at 10:21 pm Silvia 37

oh my!! LOL

June 23, 2011 at 2:28 am brian e. 38

Thanks for the giveaway…a memorable moment happened when my daughter witnessed a neighbors horse give birth; she stood there watching, transfixed, as the horse gave birth. I will never forget the look of sheer joy & wonder on my daughter’s face when the foal stood up for the first time after several minutes of being attended to by it’s mother.

My daughter is now twelve, but she still uses Johnson’s baby Shampoo.

Decorating holiday cookies was a great time at our house. Messy, but lots of fun and wonderful memories.
Johnson’s Baby Lotion is still a must for moisturizing here.

June 23, 2011 at 3:18 am Cindy M 40

My best memory with my dad ( since I don’t have kids): Went to an All you can eat buffet with my Father and both of my hungry brothers- fish dinner, $6.99: After my guys had helping number 5, the manager gave my dad $20, requested that we leave and not return.
I love Johnson and Johnson products! Their babycare products are great, especially the no tears shampoo.

June 23, 2011 at 10:22 pm Silvia 41

LOL that’s hilarious!!

June 23, 2011 at 4:19 am Crystal F 42

My youngest daughter’s first 2 years were extra special. I got to cosleep with both of my girls. My oldest was six at the time. I loved getting to snuggle with them both all night. I still cosleep with my youngest but miss that snuggle time with my oldest.

Even though my youngest is now seven, I still use all Johnson and Johson products on her. She has really sensitive skin and this is what works best for her. thank you!

June 23, 2011 at 5:18 am Deborah Wellenstein 43

The best moments were when my children learned how to walk-they looked so surprised!-and then they took off running, and they haven’t stopped since! I like smooshing Johnson’s baby lotion on them after their bath. Thanks!

Our most memorable moment was the last Christmas we celebrated as a family before we lost our daughter. Never have another time with the whole family again.
I keep their bandages handy all the time for the grandkids and us and keep some and antibiotic cream in my purse.

One of the most memorable times with our girls was the first time we made cookies together. We made a huge mess and the cookies were less than perfect looking but we had a blast and those were the best tasting cookies ever.

I use Johnson and Johnson baby oil nearly every day. I apply it to my skin about 15 mintues before I hop in the shower. Love it!

June 23, 2011 at 6:03 am Veronica Garrett 46

My most memorable moment with our daughter was the first time she smiled at me. We had been trying to have a child for two years and our wish finally came true. We have always used Johnson’s products. I use Johnson’s Lotion as a moisturizer everyday.

June 23, 2011 at 6:08 am amanda h 47

A J&J tip: Using baby oil on a qtip and cotton ball are a sure way to remove 100% of your eye makeup at bed time!

My most memorable moment with my kids were when we were on vacation in Maine and got up at 5:30AM to walk the dogs along the beach. We saw the most gorgeous sunrise. It was such a great morning. Nature always knocks things into perspective for me. Reminds me of all the little miracles I take for granted on a daily basis. Makes me appreciate my family and the beauty around me. It was just a great moment to share with my family; undescribeable by words I guess.

Here’s a shot we took on the beach:

thank you!

My most memorable time with my kids was taking Ian to see Santa- he was so overwhelmed it was precious.

My tip for Johnson’s- use the baby oil – on yourself- before getting out of the shower and then air dry- you will be so soft and smooth.

June 23, 2011 at 6:29 am Denise B. 51

For us, all our time with our children is the most memorable. There is no way to pick and choose. Life is short, and we cherish every moment together. We use Johnson baby products for everything and not just on babies. Even the oil has some good mechanical uses! :)

June 23, 2011 at 6:31 am momznite 52

I remember the first time I tried to make cut out sugar cookies with the girls and there was powdered sugar everywhere!

June 23, 2011 at 6:34 am momznite 53

Oops, and I meant to say that the Johnson baby shampoo is a must have – love not having to worry if it gets in little eyes.

June 23, 2011 at 6:31 am courtney 54

i have no kids YET but I am pregnant.. but i have many memories of johnson and johnson. I hope my entry will count. My mom used J & J on me ever since I was little and my sister. I loved the shampoo because its ok to get in the eyes and leaves you super clean. LOVE it!

June 23, 2011 at 6:34 am Susan Smith 55

My most memorable moments with my children was a vacation we took last year when we went to Florida and my children got to see the ocean for the frist time in their lives. They loves playing on the beach and swimming in the ocean. We have use Johnson Baby products since my children were babies and I still use them today like the shampoo on my hair and the baby oil in my bath.

June 23, 2011 at 6:40 am susan smoaks 56

Last year we took a trip to visit my sister in Ohio. We had the best time on the long road trip. We spent time talking and bonding. We enjoyed visiting our family and spending time together. We use Johnson & Johnson baby oil, baby powder, tearless shampoo and lotion regularly. I love that I do not have to worry about any tears with the shampoo. If you’ve ever got regular shampoo in a child’s eyes, you know how hard it is to get it out and how much pain and distress it causes. I have always loved Johnson’s products and will always love them!

June 23, 2011 at 7:00 am kathy dunaway 57

My most memorable moments are when I held each of my kids for the first time.I remember giving them their first bath with Johnson’s bathwash.
When I put the Johnson’s Baby Lotion on my kids.I would massage it in really slow, working from the toes up.Babies love it.It really relaxes them.

June 23, 2011 at 7:03 am Marjo Grimm 58

I just taught my son how to make potatoe salad. It is one of his favs, and I figured, if something happens to me, he may never know my recipe.

June 23, 2011 at 8:07 am Katie S. 59

A few months ago I had a cold and I was coughing and sneezing all over the place. My toddler thought me sneezing was the funniest thing ever and every time I sneezed he would fake sneeze too and then laugh and laugh. Well, he aparently loves it so much, that he’s still fake sneezing all the time and adding sound effects and raspberries to the ends and even starting off with long drawn out aaaaah aaaaaaaaaah aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah… its pretty cute and its probably something that we’ll share forever. We take Johnson’s bubble baths and he fake sneezes into the bubbles sending them flying all over the place. Its a lot of fun, albeit a bit messy :)

June 23, 2011 at 10:25 pm Silvia 60

That’s soooo sweet!

June 23, 2011 at 8:34 am Jessica 61

One of the most memorable messy moments is when my son got into a Nutella Jar. He was covered in the Nutella Sauce. I saw him licking himself so I got scared it was poop. Thankfully it was just chocolate. I scooped him up and took him to straight to the bath. Of course I bathed him using Johnson & Johnson Baby Bath it’s my favorite.

June 23, 2011 at 8:58 am Gianna 64

My kids in awe over Mount Rushmore was pretty neat.

June 23, 2011 at 9:46 am heather c 65

I think it was the time she sang at the opening of a baseball tournament and was so happy to get high fives from all the players after.
One tip: right after the bath or shower, don’t dry off; just put your hair up in a towel and apply Johnson’s baby oil on your driest spots. After, pat the rest of your skin dry. Baby that skin!

June 23, 2011 at 9:56 am Dawn S. 66

The most memorable moment with my son was when I got to breastfeed him in the NICU. He had low blood sugar level because I had gestational diabetes and I finally got to be alone with him in the feeding room. I remember crying and telling him that this it was how it was supposed to be because everyone was watching me hold him before that with all those doctors and nurses around. I never wanted to let him go…I still don’t!
I use Johnson’s Baby Oil to remove cradle cap! Works like a charm!

June 23, 2011 at 10:49 am Lindsey M 67

I remember taking my eldest on the log flume a the local theme park – he was not impressed with getting wet but loved it!
I love the johnson’s detangling spray – makes combing my son’s hair so much easier when it gets a bit longer

June 23, 2011 at 12:31 pm brandlyn 68

My memorable moment is when my daughter came home from the hospital a week aftr she was born. She had a medical condition and had to stay in the hospital for a week. We were all so frightened of ho serious it was but our prayers were answered when my daughter got better and was allowed to come home and tht day was so wonderful. I wll never forget bringing her home for the 1st time.
I always use Johnson and Johnson shampoo every night for my daughter and sometimes I use it when take a shower. It makes my skin feel so smooth and hair looks so shiny.

June 23, 2011 at 6:30 pm Kristie 70

My son LOVES Thomas the train, and when I bought him his own ride-able Thomas train for his birthday, his reaction was priceless!
I use Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo for him. He has sensitive skin and it is the only product that will keep him from breaking into a rash. It also smells so yummy that my husband never fails to complement me on how nice I smell whenever I use it on myself!

June 23, 2011 at 6:32 pm Cynthia W 71

My most memorable moment with my kids is the time we all went to Disney World. It was magical and we spent a whole week together soaking it all in. I used Johnson Baby Lotion to keep my skin soft and smelling good. My whole family uses it!

June 23, 2011 at 8:36 pm Mary Beth Elderton 72

My son was very interested in sharks and other marine life, so I remember planning whole vacations around cities with aquariums and zoos–of course, being from Texas, we visited Sea World.
I use Johnson’s Baby Shampoo as a gentle soak for delicate laundry.

June 23, 2011 at 9:02 pm Janna Johnson 73
