ENGLISH VERSION BELOW

Hoy se sortea un libro de cocina con 600 recetas para slow cooker, Fix-It and Forget-It Christmas Cookbook: 600 Slow Cooker Holiday Recipes, de la autora de The New York Times betsellers Cook it and Forget it, Phyllis Pellman Good.

  • Pavo y camotes afrutados
  • Fondue de mariscos
  • Vanilla Steamers
  • Pastel de mantequilla de cacahuate
  • Y muchas, pero muchas mas

Además Fix-It and Forget-It Christmas Cookbook incluye “Ideas para hacer de las fiestas algo memorable” y “Tips para ser buenos anfitriones.”

Me fue enviado otro libro para compartir mi opinión con ustedes, Fix-It and Forget-It Kids’ Cookbook: 50 Favorite Recipes to Make in a Slow Cooker.

ENGLISH VERSION

Welcome to day 11 of Mama Latina Tips’ 12 days of giveaways.  Today’s giveaway is the Fix-It and Forget-It Christmas Cookbook: 600 Slow Cooker Holiday Recipes by Phyllis Pellman Good, the New York Times bestselling author of the Fix-It and Forget-It cookbooks.

Certainly many of us entertain friends and family during the holiday season more than at any other time of the year, and for some, the pressure to deliver perfect holiday food can be overwhelming.  Phyllis says, “You absolutely can make holiday meals with ease and with pleasure.  Stop your fretting. Put an end to the nightmares. Get out your slow cookers!”

Here are some of the recipes inside:

  • Cornish Hens with Potatoes
  • Sausage Tortellini Soup
  • Fruited Turkey and Yams
  • Seafood Cheese Fondue
  • Vanilla Steamers
  • Fudgy Peanut Butter Cake
  • And many, many more

In addition, the Fix-It and Forget-It Christmas Cookbook includes “Ideas for Meaningful Holidays” and “Happy Hosting Tips.”

I had the opportunity to review another of her books titled, Fix-It and Forget-It Kids’ Cookbook: 50 Favorite Recipes to Make in a Slow Cooker. It contains easy to make recipes that most any child can help mom make in the kitchen.  Here are some of the recipes: big juicy burgers, creamy lasagna, tempting tortilla casserole, and gooey chocolate pudding cake.  I like that it comes notebook style (no fighting to keep it open to the page you want), the recipes have very clear instructions, the ingredients and equipment you need are on the left page and a full-color picture of the finished dish is on the right. The author addresses children from the beginning and writes about knowing your slow cooker, conversions, cooking abbreviations, and safety tips.  At the end of the book there is a “My Cookbook Diary” section, to document the recipe you make, when you made it, and how the recipe turned out.  This book would make a great gift for any mom with small children.
