I’m always very happy to find a new resource in my quest to raise bilingual children, and I’m ecstatic when I find music for children in Español! If you are raising bilingual children, or if you would like to expose your children to Español, this may interest you.
1-2-3 Español Together™ is an early language education program designed to expose children to foreign languages and stimulate interest in other cultures. They do that through movement, storytelling, play, and music. Unfortunately, we don’t live close enough, but for those of you who do, they have classes in Georgia, Massachussets, and North Carolina. Fortunately for the rest of us their original CD’s are now available.
One of their CD’s “Jump into Español” has a lot to love about it! The songs are 100% in Español, and they introduce Español concepts in a fun way, for example, “Mi cara redonda” (“My round face”) talks about body parts, “Hojas, Hojas” (“Leaves, Leaves”) talks about colors, “¿Cuantas manzanas hay?” (“How many apples are there?”) talks about numbers, others are perfect for dancing and all are fun for sing along. One thing I like a lot is the songs are very short, the longest is just 1 minute, 40 seconds, which makes them easier for the little ones to learn and sing. In addition, the CD comes with the lyrics in Español and English, so if you are not a Español speaker you still can sing along and know what you are singing.
All songs are fun to sing and my kids can’t help dancing to them. The songs have a beautiful latin flavor, with guitars, maracas, and bongos spicing up the melodies. Would you like to hear some of them? Just click here!
1-2-3 Español Together™ has 7 original CD’s, you can check them out here, you can buy them for $12 + shipping, and they ship anywhere in the world!
